HEDGELAYING IN ONTARIO’S GREENBELT: A Multi-criteria Assessment of Social Ecological Innovation and Novel Ecosystems

Funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the broad purpose of this Partnership Grant is to examine landscape planning and management practices within the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH), with reference to broader themes such as place-making, public space, protection policy, collective stewardship, governance of shared resources, novel ecosystems, agro-ecology, local economic development, regional resilience, and growth planning.

Over three years, a diverse group of local stakeholders will work together to conceive of an integrated, landscape-based partnership project, intended to draw out collaborative links and speak to regional sustainability mandates.
